Refurbished bench
The two benches adjacent to the Village Hall were refurbished in June 2026.
The chestnut wood came from one of Robin Carver's plantations and was milled by Charles Inglis. Douglas (Dylan) Empson planed the lengths to size, before sanding and sealing them. He then repainted the iron frames, assembled the sections and placed them in situ.

Village Hall Rear Footpath

The Village Hall Committee has recently been working on a project to improve the footpath that exists to the rear of the hall and comes out onto the top end of The Knoll cul-de-sac. A team of volunteers has been working tirelessly to get this footpath to an improved state over the last couple of months. Although this work will be ongoing for a while, we are clearly now at a good interim stage and final completion will be a while longer due to the expense that is now needed. When completed this footpath will allow much improved wheelchair access and a greater ease of movement of goods to and from the hall. This will ultimately relieve pressure on the roadside verge in front of the Hall.
The Committee are very grateful for the help of others for the very hard work that has been done so far in this project. We would particularly like to express our extreme thanks to Mark Terry for hedge cutting, earth moving and fence erection, Peter Hawkey for the gift of fence posts, wire and labouring,  Jill Roy for organisation and labouring , Mo Williams for bonfire, Johnny Weir for fence work and Glenn Sullivan for transporting debris. Without the help of these we would not be in the position we are now with this project.
Thank you, the Village Hall Committee
